About me
Berco Balogh was born in a traditional musicians family in Bratislava 1961 . He studied on a conservatory in Bratislava viola playing at Prof. Rafael Hrdina. Since 1980 he started professionally jazz singing.
He was member of famous slovak funky band TAMIS, which took part in 1983 for the first time at prestigeous international music festival - Bratislavska Lyra. In 1984 he starts Professional cooperation with unique fussion band TAGORE. In 1987 is professionaly engaged within the best Czecho-slovak jazz band of Vladimir Valovic - VV SYSTEM, which held plenty of concerts at home as well as in abroad. In the same year he gained with VV SYSTEM band, bronze prize of Bratislavska Lyra, with the song „Milionar". In 1988 he won gold prize for home production and silver one in foreign competition with the song - „Farbami Dycha Noc".
In 1989 he left to abroad, where as guest singer acted in countries as Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Poland, Denmark, Czech Republic, Malta and Russia. In 1994 he started cooperation with legendary Czecho-slovak Gustav Brom big band, where he took part on plenty of concerts around Europe. At the same time he published in cooperation with Fredies Dance Group album - Not really Black, Not Really white.
In the 1995 he published his first solo album - Farbami dycha noc at OPUS label. In 1998 he gained prestigeous prize of Ladislav Martonik for his contribution within jazz music. At the same time he publishes in cooperation with famous Gustav Brom Big Band, Frank Sinatra memorial album - Hallo Frankie Boy.
In 1999 he co-founds with Matus Jakabcic an funky fusion formation - Bee Connection, where next year this cooperation results in publishing of album „Bee Connection".
In 2002 he hosted two seasons at famous slovak musical theater - Nova Scena in a musical HAMLET. Next year as well as in musical - Rebelove.
Since 2005 to 2007 he is active in cocerts, television and radio shows casts and in 2008 he publishes his fourth solo album - Siedmy Pad.
At present time cooperates with many outstanding slovak jazz musicians and he conducts new projects and formations within funky music.
